Distribution of function MO (Infrastructure & Services)
There are following Allocated business to MO (I&S) as Schedule II (Rule 5)
(a) Provide manage, operate, maintain and improve the municipal infrastructure, including: –
(a.1) water supply and control and development of water sources;
(a.2) sewage and sewage treatment and disposal;
(a.3) storm water drainage;
(a.4) establish landfill site and recycling plants;
(a.5) roads and streets;
(a.6) traffic signalling system, sign on the roads, street markings;
(a.7) street lighting;
(a.8) graveyards; and
(a.9) public open spaces, public gardens playgrounds and arboriculture other than provided and maintain by Horticultural; Authority.
(b) Develop parking places, transport stations, stops, stands and terminals;
(c) Enforce all municipals laws, rules and by-laws relating to a allocated functions; and
(d) Sanitation and solid waste collection and sanitary disposal of solid liquid, industrial and hospitals wastes treatments and disposal including landfill site and recycling plants;
(e) Managements of passengers and transport freight and transit stations;
(f) Firefighting;
(g) Safety on children’s play areas prevention of accidents;
(h) Managements of graveyards
(i) Managements of public open spaces, public gardens, playgrounds and arborculture;
(j) Management of slaughter houses;
(k) Conserve historical and cultural assets.
(l) Managements of libraries and reading rooms.
(m) Any other function assigned under Law, Rules and by the Government.
